Monday, November 21 is ACBL-Wide Charity Game |
|
This
Monday, will be a special ACBL-Wide Charity Pairs Game. This means
the game awards points as a tournament-rated game. There will be
'hand records' on each of the hands played ... this is a real bonus.
The lesson on Monday Night will be after the game. I will stay and
help you go over any hands played during the night. I will have
analyses of the the hands available to discuss.

Peggy Gibson Resigns |
|
It was
announced at last night's game that Peggy Gibson the Teaching Director
of the Monday Night Game and the Club's Easybridge games has resigned
from teaching/directing at The Bridge Club.
Peggy will
be sorely missed. Peggy's enthusiasm and energy for Easybridge and
the Intermediate/Novice program has been an inspiration to everyone at
the club. Peggy says ...

I just want to thank you all for your
support of the Monday night game. I have enjoyed sharing every
cheesecake, brownie, game and lesson with you. Forgive me for running
you by the clock, but you have to admit you all play faster now! See you
at the table real soon, and don't forget your table manners! My
dad told me never to say "Good Bye" because it is too final. So, to my
Monday night bridge buddies I say "See you later!" ... you never know
what tomorrow brings!"

After a weekend of bridge in the
Camellia Classic, the die-hards still came out to play last night ... we
had 9 full tables.

Our theme
for the last several weeks has been on competitive bidding after the
opponents open the bidding. Continuing this theme, last
night's lesson was on Strong Takeout Doubles.

Don't forget that now is the time to
renew/join the Hilton Head Island Bridge Association (The Bridge Club).
We are a member owned club. It is only because we have a bridge
association that we can have a club where we can all come and play such
a great game.
The $10.00
annual fee is very small and you get so much. It only covers a
small part of the operation of the club, but is so important for us to
be able to show our presence and importance on the island and else
where. We use our membership numbers to show the size and growth
of our organization in many areas: creditors, ACBL, etc. The
membership forms are at the director's desk.
