Monday
Night Bridge
September 12, 2005
6:30 pm ...
Lesson: Systems On
7:00 pm ...
Game: NLM (0-299)
We had 5 full
tables last week Dick Sellers - Stanley Xenakis were
1st N/S and Eugene Boros - Jim Wigginton were 1st
E/W. The results from the September 5th game can be reviewed on the
web at http://www.freewebs.com/hhscores/050905FE.TXT.
To play bridge
well, it is so important to be able to define your hand to your
partner. Remember, bridge is a partnership game! No opening bid
better defines your hand than an opening bid in notrump. Last week I
started a series of lessons about and revolving around notrump opening
bids. The handout for last week Notrump
Bidding Sequences can be viewed or downloaded at my
website. I will try to do a handout each week and and bring some
copies to the game, as well as, post it on my web site.
As a follow-up to
last week's lesson, tonight's lesson is Systems
On - dealing with which systems bids you should be
using over Notrump Bidding Sequences.
In addition, each
week I will try to either review a hand played in a previous game or
answer a question. Tonight I have a question about forcing bids over
notrump that was brought in by Tommy Arnold.
There will not be
a guaranteed partner for tonight's game. I will try to sort this
process out after tonight. If you need a partner, please let me know.
I hope to see you
tonight.
Remember
Bridge should be fun!
