Grand National Teams

In March, the HHI Bridge Club and the Okatie Duplicate Bridge Club (Sun City) ran qualifying games for the Grand National Teams (GNT) competition.  The GNT is one of two ACBL sponsored national events that require qualification at the club level and district level for the right to play in national competition.  The April 2004 issue of the Bridge Bulletin (p. 9) has a write-up on the pair’s event – the North American Pairs (NAP).

To reach the District 7 finals, GNT teams with up to 5,000 masterpoints qualifying at the club level must next qualify in one of several district semifinal events happing this weekend – Saturday, April 3rd.  One of the semifinal games will be held in Columbia, SC at the Columbia Bridge Club.  Team’s qualifying for Saturday’s competition are:

March 23rd at HHI Bridge Club

Individuals interested in advancing to the district semifinals do not need to play with the same team with which they qualified.  The only requirement is that all players are qualified to compete at the same level.  If you are interested in going to Columbia this weekend call Fred Ferguson at 363.64616 or send an email to fred@oneNT.com … I have all the qualifying information and will try to match up teams.
