Fred E. Ferguson is an American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) certified Bronze Life Master (#77,955) with 725 masterpoints.  Mr. Ferguson began playing bridge in college, where he played some duplicate bridge - winning his first red point in Gatlinburg in the late 60s.  Mr. Ferguson quit bridge for 30 some years to devote time to a career and family.  Mr. Ferguson was a Partner with Arthur Andersen (Atlanta) and Grant Thornton LLP (New York City) before taking an early retirement to live on Hilton Head Island.  Mr. Ferguson began playing bridge again in August of 2001 and achieved the rank of Life Master in July of 2003 and Bronze Life Master in July of 2004.  In 2004 Mr. Ferguson was the Life Master of the Year in South Carolina winning both the Unit 160 "Mini-McKenney" and "Ace of Clubs" competition.  Mr. Ferguson is a Club Director directing pairs and team games for the HHI Bridge Club and is a qualified Tournament Assistant.  Mr. Ferguson is an ACBL Star certified teacher.  He teaches and coordinates advanced/intermediate classes for the HHI Bridge Club and teaches private community classes.  Mr. Ferguson actively supports the local bridge community by publishing an electronic bridge newsletter and web site (http://www.onent.com/), running special games and promotes almost anything that will advance bridge in the community.  Mr. Ferguson is famous within the HHI bridge community for running special games such as charity games and club championships with special themes like Pajama Parties, PIMMs Parties, and Halloween Costume Parties.
